Position Details

Undergraduate Intern, Stakeholder Communications
Central and Northeast Florida
Jacksonville, FL

The intern will assist the Enterprise Communications team with communications programs and tactics that support Florida Blue business objectives and contribute to day-to-day communicationsfor Florida Blue. The intern will support communications to Medicare members and sales agents and work with our social media team to promote GuideWell and Florida Blue. The internship will provide the intern with a broad range of experiences working on a corporate communications team.

Job Functions:

  • Write newsletter articles, blog articles, emails, letters, web content, social media posts, and collateral materials for Florida Blue Medicare members and agents who sell Medicare products. 
  • Ensure that communications for both audiences are clear, engaging and on brand and adhere to Florida Blue tone and style guidelines. 
  • Collaborate with communications colleagues to align messaging across audiences. 
  • Coordinate review process for materials. 
  • Write and post social media messaging to promote GuideWell and Florida Blue.

Minimum Job Requirements:

  • Undergraduate (junior or senior) in public relations, marketing communications or related discipline. 
  • Superior writing, editing and proofreading skills 
  • Self-motivated, active listener, strong attention to detail 
  • Familiarity with web-based communications, social media and other new/emerging technologies 
  • Professional presence, a positive and enthusiastic demeanor, and the ability to build relationships 

Organization Skills:

  • Ability to work independently and with others 
  • Dependability, flexibility, and ability to maintain confidentiality

Preferred Criteria:

  • Project leadership or communications planning experience preferred 
  • Ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, organized and creative, possess a professional work ethic, and be enthusiastic to gain new knowledge.
