Position Details

Senior Digital Communications Specialist
Metro Atlanta and North Georgia
Atlanta, GA

This position is responsible for managing the institution’s critical online marketing and digital platforms with specific responsibilities including but not limited to:

  • Oversight for maintenance & functionality for the institution’s primary web properties ( and including some back-end coding, leading web, social media and apps. 
  • Development and dissemination of MSM Newsletter 
  • Manage and dissemination of emergency communications
  • Crisis management and communication
  • Update management and oversee policy surrounding social media, MSM Intranet and web
  • Front end design and aesthetic, website content management and social media platform integration. 
  • Internal email communications, electronic calendar management and atrium monitor management. 
  • Design (and coding), that includes oversight for daily website operations and ongoing performance & functionality and working with developers on back-end coding issues. 
  • Content management, that includes developing the voice for all aspects of MSM’s online presence, writing, editing, and proofreading site content as well as crafting, email newsletters, e-calendars and online outreach campaigns. 
  • Website development that includes working closely with IT to maintain site standards with regard to new development. 
  • Coordinate web projects across departments. 
  • Copyedit and proofread all web content. 
  • Keep current with emerging web technologies through relevant blogs, list serves and events. 
  • Track and report on all site metrics. 
  • Working closely with clients and vendors as well as technical and marketing members of the organization.

Minimum Qualifications:


  • Bachelor’s Degree in English, Journalism, Technical Writing. Degree must be from a regionally accredited college or university.

Experience: 7-9 years related experience to include:

  • Advanced knowledge of HTML, Omni Update or similar and experience with popular content management systems (Drupal, Convio, Kintera, etc)
  • Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Knowledge of Basic Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, Flash, InDesign, and Dreamweaver.
  • Experience managing content and production for high traffic websites.
