Job Summary:

Under limited supervision, develops, implements and disseminates engaging communications to the region and about the region in ways that align with corporate goals and priorities.

Essential Functions:

  • Work with regional employees, business areas, project teams and other internal clients to understand their communication objectives, recommend communication solutions and develop communication plans 
  • Create and manage a communications plan and content for Regional Vice President 
  • Manage travel schedule throughout the region to build relationships and capture stories, information and quotes for various communications 
  • Measure regional communications, report as appropriate and adjust communications strategy/focus accordingly 
  • Serve as informed representative to help region employees understand any and all corporate communications. 
  • Provide feedback to internal communications team to ensure communications are applicable to field-based employees

Minimum Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, journalism, marketing or related field required.

Minimum Experience:

  • Three (3) years of experience in a corporate communications department or with a public relations firm OR two (2) years of Communications experience plus one (1) year of FedEx Ground Operations experience.

Required Skills, Abilities and / or Licensure:

  • Software skills, including use of Microsoft Office software and web-based applications. 
  • Verbal and written communication skills necessary to communicate with all levels of management. 
  • Time management, organizational and multi-tasking skills necessary to work in a fast-paced environment, handling various tasks and changing priorities, while maintaining a high attention to detail and accuracy to achieve daily assignments and goals. 
  • Ability to analyze, review, and make recommendations. 
  • Knowledge of concepts, practices, policies and procedures related to communications solutions and strong writing and editing skills.

Other Job Description Information:

  • This position will support the FedEx Ground Southern region.
  • Position based in Charlotte area.
