Carlton Fields is seeking a Marketing Coordinator for its downtown Miami office.

Carlton Fields, an AmLaw 200 law firm, seeks a dynamic marketing professional in its Miami, FL office. The candidate will work closely with the firm’s Chief Marketing Officer, Public Relations Manager, Marketing Manager, Senior Writer, Marketing Events Manager, and other marketing professionals.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Serve as a member of the Public Relations team: write, edit, and proofread press releases and media web center posts; pitch and secure expert commentary and attorney bylines; assist with media interviews and requests; research and build media lists, and monitor editorial calendars; develop and maintain media contacts; collaborate with lawyers to develop media opportunities; monitor and archive firm news clips; compile internal bi-monthly news clip communication 
  • Work closely with Senior Writer on award nominations (identify opportunities for clients, firm, and attorneys, and write, edit, and proofread nominations) 
  • Collect, maintain, and track case data for survey and award submissions 
  • Assist Marketing Manager with preparation, submission, and monitoring of the firm’s Marketing and Client Development Budget and related financial tasks 
  • Update and maintain marketing technologies (CRM), web, and print materials 
  • Assist Marketing Events Manager with coordination of firm and client events 
  • Obtain CLE and CE credits for client presentations 
  • Serve as liaison to practice and industry groups (attend meetings, provide marketing updates and assist with requests) 
  • Assume other day-to-day marketing responsibilities firm wide and locally as needed

Experience and Required Skills:

  • 3 – 5 years, preferably writing for a law firm or a professional services organization (previous experience in PR agency setting a plus) 
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills (proficient in AP Style a plus), including the ability to write business communications and effectively present information and respond to inquiries from all levels of professional and support staff, clients, associations, and vendors; and an exacting attention to detail in all work product 
  • Strong technical skills, including advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, and Excel) a must; proficiency using PowerPoint and Adobe Acrobat 
  • Proficient in public relations, event planning, and various marketing technologies, including ERM/CRM, Email Marketing software, etc. 
  • Ability to learn and grow with new technology and trends 
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to meet deadlines and manage simultaneous priorities working independently or as part of a team 
  • Must demonstrate good judgment, problem-solving, and decision-making in a multiple leader, team oriented, fast-paced environment 
  • Attendance at occasional evening and weekend firm events will be required 
  • A high level of professionalism and confidentiality is crucial to this role 
  • Enthusiasm and dedication to the development of a professional services marketing career

Education:

  • College degree concentration in Marketing, Business, Communications, or related field is preferred.
