Located in Asheville, MAHEC serves a 16-county region in Western North Carolina. We are the largest Area Health Education Centerin North Carolina, which evolved to address national and state concerns with the supply, retention and quality of health professionals.
MAHEC seeks to hire a full time, benefited Marketing and Communications Specialist to handle various marketing, communications, and graphic design initiatives. Requires the creation and implementation of communication strategies and publications in support of the mission of MAHEC.
Specific responsibilities will include designing print and electronic publications including managing the logistics associated with commercial printing; researching, interviewing, and writing articles for publications and the MAHEC web site; working with local media; designing exhibits and materials for various health fairs and community events.
The ideal candidate must possess graphic design skills and have knowledge of pre-press production requirements. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Adobe InDesign and Photoshop required. Excellent oral, written and interpersonal skills required as well as a commitment to excellent customer service.
Any combination of training and experience equivalent to an Associate's Degree in Journalism, Marketing, Public Relations or Communications and at least three(3) years of communications, marketing, journalism or other relevant experience required. Bachelor's Degree preferred.
