The Marketing & Communications Manager writes copy for internal and external marketing, participates in building and executing the communication strategy, and manages field marketing projects. We are looking for an experienced writer and communications strategist, able to deliver compelling stories in the brand voice in all mediums. The work will span across high-concept strategic initiatives, marketing campaigns to punchy taglines. You will succeed in this role if you are resourceful, self-directed, excellent at project and detail management, and comfortable juggling many priorities in a deadline-driven environment. Strategic thinking, efficient organization, and the ability to effectively execute projects are key. You are a strategic thinker, an efficient organizer, strong communicator and you’re able to keep the long-term strategy and timelines in mind while tending to the essential details.

What You’ll Do:

  • Concept and create internal marketing campaigns that inspire employees to evangelize BMC’s brand and core values. Define and implement cultural best practices, grounded in smart, creative strategy, to increase employee engagement and satisfaction. 
  • Develop overall communication strategy and plan that promotes BMC’s value proposition and core values. 
  • Assist with the development and distribution of marketing materials and programs, including, but not limited to, sales collateral, promotional programs, new product launches, loyalty programs, internet and intranet content and presentations. 
  • Write and edit fresh, engaging, on-brand copy for a wide variety of external assets across print, digital, and social formats. 
  • Coordinate the deliverables of marketing events by working with the Market/Location leadership team, design team and other external vendors as required. 
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously, under tight deadlines, with a strong ability to prioritize tasks and milestones against project timelines. 
  • Collaborate on wide variety of communications projects across multiple stakeholders and contributors, including graphic designers, videographers, operations, marketing and PR firms and agencies, promotional groups, graphic designers, printers and industry associations to ensure timely completion of projects. 
  • Cultivate strong partnerships with product manufacturers and developing unified marketing programs to achieve mutual objectives and maximize return on investment. 
  • Quickly learn BMC’s product lines, target audiences and company culture; assist in building and maintaining brand guidelines, and ensure adherence across every campaign and communication. 

Reports to Director of Marketing, and works closely with executive leadership team on communications strategy development and execution.

REQUIRED SKILLS:

  • Strong writer and storyteller who can distill complex details and strategies to craft messaging, brand narratives, and copy that inspires an emotional, benefit-driven connection — minus the corporate speak 
  • Adaptable and willing to take on projects big and small, whatever it takes to help the team succeed 
  • Possess excellent interpersonal skills with a strong desire to collaborate. 
  • Excellent multi-tasking skills, able to set own priorities, and work under fast-paced deadline pressure 
  • High degree of accuracy and attention to detail 
  • Ability to gather, understand, and accurately disseminate information from across a variety of business areas

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s degree in English, Marketing, Communications or a related field. 
  • 5+ years of experience in employee communications and/or change communications - working in a fast-paced, high-volume environment 
  • 5+ years of experience creating and managing marketing campaigns and collateral development 
  • Experience working and editing within digital and print mediums 
  • Experience in change management

Must present a portfolio showcasing published examples of short and long form copy for a variety of mediums.
