Position Details

Manager, Corporate Communications
Metro Atlanta and North Georgia
Tucker, GA

Job Summary:

The Corporate Communications Manager role will play a key part in the execution of YP’s strategy for external and internal communications. Additionally, this role will give input to YP’s story and engagement with media and employees, be responsible for driving toward the team’s goals and has a direct impact on the company’s external and internal reputation. This role, based in Atlanta, will be a main point of contact for the company’s headquarters with the opportunity to lead local internal events.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Partner in development of corporate communications strategy to keep employees, media and influencers informed about news and events at YP, The Real Yellow Pages 
  • Draft messages and content, including emails, blog posts, and media pitches, to share with internal and external audiences 
  • Collaborate and build positive relationships with other business functions (HR, Sales, Customer Experience) across the company to identify news drivers and maximize communications efforts 
  • Facilitate company-wide meetings and employee engagement activities 
  • Manage third-party vendors, consultants/designers, and contractors, as necessary 
  • Manage social media needs for Corporate Communications team

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Maintain strong media contacts with business, marketing and consumer outlets; local Atlanta media is a plus 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills 
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills 
  • Highly organized with experience managing multiple projects on tight deadlines and with great attention to detail 
  • Event management experience 
  • PR Measurement platforms (Cision, Trendkite, Meltwater) 
  • Social Media monitoring platforms (Hootsuite, Adobe Social, etc) 
  • Content Management and Measurement platforms (Sharepoint, Wordpress, Jive, etc)

Competency Profile:

  • Possess ability to remain calm and focused under pressure 
  • Creative personality and comfortable with collaborating across multiple departments at all levels of management 
  • Ability to represent the company in a professional manner at all times 
  • Ability to travel to other YP offices (Los Angeles, New York City, and other locations) 
  • Be able to operate independently with little on-site supervision

Experience Requirements Required (Minimum):

  • 5-7 years of corporate communications or public relations experience 
  • External media relations is required

Preferred tenure and elements (inclusive of that required):

  • Working knowledge or experience in local media and digital marketing

Education Requirements Required (Minimum):

  • A bachelor’s degree, preferably in a relevant concentration such as communications, public relations or journalism. 
  • An advanced degree is a plus
