The graphic designer creates highly visual concepts to communicate ideas that inspire, inform, educate or captivate consumers. This role demands a keen business sense as well as creative flair and originality. Develops the overall layout and production for all visual and content marketing materials including print and digital applications. This position requires an eye for detail and a highly creative mind. Must posses a higher level of independent project management, strategic thinking and art direction to develop design and content quality along with initiative to produce creative using professional knowledge and talents. The ideal candidate is an energetic and well-rounded designer. A versatile and adaptable individual with a strong knowledge and desire to articulate visually the role that doors can play in shaping better environments.

The designer works closely with Content & communications specialist, Creative services manager and Traffic specialist. This role reports to the Design Manager.

Responsibilities:

  • Concept and design of all printed and digital content as well as point of purchase materials according to established design and brand standard guidelines. 
  • Multi-task working on different conceptual and multi-tiered projects of varying scope and degree, in a timely manner, to meet proposed deadlines. Initiates new improved designs and processes to elevate the Masonite brand within the scope, time and budget provided. 
  • Executes proper art preparation for print and digital. Prepares art support and documentation in transferring art files for production output. Follow-through in reviewing printers’ proofs to ensure project is properly printed. 
  • Ability to complete any given project from concept to completion including reviewing and proofing his/her own work. 
  • Ability to sell, present and pitch concepts to internal customers by him/herself or teams up with the design manager for approval. Participates in creative review presentations and input sessions with external and internal customers. 
  • Work with other marketing team members in addressing creative issues/content/improvements and manage review process and updates. 
  • Knowledge and thirst to investigate, innovate, and develop trends in creative with an emphasis on website, social, and mobile application.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Fine Arts, Graphic Design, or Digital Media Design. 
  • 6+ years of design experience in a highly paced environment either in an in-house agency or advertising agency 
  • Expert in Adobe Creative Suite products and Microsoft Excel, Word and Power Point. 
  • Ability to present and “sell ideas.” 
  • Deliver design solutions within production-scheduled timeframes and within budget constraints. 
  • Experience with working with photographers and photo shoots. 
  • Ability to create and thrive in a collaborative climate. 
  • Proven design and creative skills. 
  • Portfolio of print and digital work is a must have.
