Job Responsibilities:

  • Plan and support external communications efforts 
  • Responsible for management of social media content for corporate and global business unit support, developing content and generating activity to engage diverse stakeholders 
  • Write and edit content for multiple communications, including websites, blogs, newsletters and social media 
  • Support development and execution of communications plans with content development, media outreach strategy, coordination of leadership visibility opportunities and project coordination 
  • Assist in writing and editing corporate press releases 
  • Identify opportunities for media relationship-building and storytelling; develop materials to support media relations efforts 
  • Monitor company and competitor news to identify emerging issues and storylines 
  • Research communications trends and best practices 
  • Manage monitoring, measurement and reporting activities 
  • Develop content for advertising, external corporate communications, social media, print and websites and provide editorial functions, such as consistency in tone, style, and clarity of language 
  • Expand digital reach by developing relationships with external organizations to encourage content sharing 
  • Maintain, monitor and measure effectiveness of Albemarle.com to improve the experience of diverse stakeholders 
  • Make data-driven decisions based on tracking and reporting

Skills & Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in English, Journalism, Communications, Public Relations or related field 
  • 3-5 years of proven experience in public relations or communications, as an in-house corporate communicator or agency experience with corporate clients 
  • Outstanding researching/writing/editing skills, and ability to adapt writing style as necessary to communicate through varied channels to varied audiences 
  • Media relations and digital communications understanding and experience required 
  • Strong problem-solving skills and project management expertise 
  • Proven track record in collaborating with internal and external stakeholders with a global mindset 
  • Proven ability to think ahead, engage proactively, and take initiative 
  • Approaches everything with a sense of urgency and can prioritize multiple projects with deadline pressure 
  • Confident and comfortable when working with executive stakeholders 
  • Web, digital and social media savvy 
  • Strong attention to detail 
  • Creativity and flexibility as well as a positive, professional attitude 
  • Portfolio of writing samples made available upon request
