BODEN, an independent, award-winning communications agency looking for an Associate who will work on strategic media relations and campaigns for a Fortune 500 global brand. A deep understanding of traditional and new media PR strategies and tactics, along with social media platforms and trends, and the ability to communicate them confidently and effectively to the press is a must. In this role, the PR professional will be utilizing research and analytical skills to gather information for media pitches, social media campaigns, newsletters, and statements. Individuals with a passion for the PR industry, the multicultural market, social media trends, measurement, and content will excel in this role.


  • Manage team workflow and take ownership of account work while driving consistent media results; report status of accounts to direct Supervisor 
  • Write and edit media materials – press kits, press releases, media alerts, fact sheets, bios, case studies, and backgrounders 
  • Pitch influential members of the media in order to ensure placements 
  • Develop strategic communication plans, including media opportunities, tactics, and timelines consistent with the larger PR strategy 
  • Execute and advise on PR strategies and collaboratively develop strategic media plans 
  • Create and develop proactive pitch ideas for clients based on their industry, current trends, and various announcements 
  • Monitor the media for results and opportunities for clients 
  • Daily client interaction to update, report on, and discuss media relations 
  • Collaborate with experiential agencies partners 
  • Participate in brainstorming sessions to develop strategic/creative thinking for clients 
  • Misc. research, duties, and projects as required

Desired Skills and Experience:

  • Experience with strategic planning and campaign development 
  • Ability to develop and deliver presentations 
  • Proven relationships with the media 
  • Excellent Client Management Skills 
  • Top-notch presentation skills a must 
  • Social media expertise and a developed sense of the new media landscape 
  • Strong leadership and project management skills 
  • 3-4 years of experience in PR and Communications 
  • Ability to manage projects, on budget and on deadline 
  • Polished communication (writing and verbal) skills - both in English and in Spanish 
  • Excellent interpersonal skills 
  • Bachelor’s degree in Public Relations, Communications, Marketing, Advertising, Social Media, Business or related field
