Summary 
Description

The core function of the content strategist’s job is developing a content strategy based on ADT’s business objectives and ADT customer’s needs. This creative professional will oversee content requirements and create content strategy deliverables including, but not limited to: product (ADT and partner product); services; experience; customer end-to-end processes; and conduct content audits (qualitative analyses of all the content on a network of sites and social media accounts) as well as gap analyses.

The content strategist will create and maintain editorial calendars, taxonomies (how to group together content), and content migration plans. This role will also be responsible for managing freelance employees, maintaining budgets, and assisting with the technical integration of content.

Content marketing is the practice of using interesting content as a way to attract and engage with customers and prospects. This roll will leverage content for the brand topullin interested customers and become the expert source of information. This role will be important to lead generation so by the time customers are ready to buy, they already know and trust the ADT brand.

The Content Strategist will look holistically and strategically at ADT’s entire content ecosystem, and partner closely with media, the PR team, and event planning, and work closely and coach any persons writing on behalf of ADT. This role will run content planning meetings and manage the writing of ghost-writers who will write for subject matter experts (i.e. product experts), and in support of the user-experience, etc. Content can be produced in the form of text, posts, digital ads, on-line video, etc

Qualifications

Skills Needed:

High-level thinkers who also have a penchant for keeping track of details; idea generators and problem solvers with excellent communication and organizational skills.

This strategy expert must have the analytical abilities necessary to gather key business and user insights, and apply their strategic planning skills to create a long-term vision for the content that’s generated. Project management experience will help the content strategist keep projects on track and within budget.

Other desirable traits include the ability to compellingly communicate a brand’s story, and a design sensibility to envision how content will be presented or distributed in formats other than text-based articles, such as infographics or multimedia presentations.

A firm understanding of the ADT user-experience and strong search engine optimization (SEO) and search engine marketing (SEM) skills are preferred.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher 
  • Strong copywriter 
  • Minimum 7 years business experience, including experience in managing and writing content.
