Summary

Position Summary:

The Multimedia Coordinator will lead the social media strategy and digital content development that drive engagement with Atlanta Habitat’s donors, homeowners, homebuyers, volunteers, ReStore shoppers, board members, community and business leaders and the broader public. As a key member of the Communications team, this communications professional provides creative digital support for internal and external communications projects and related assignments. This position reports to the Vice President of Communications.

Key Responsibilities:

The Multimedia Coordinator is directly responsible for:

Leading the organization’s overall social media strategy development and implementation that includes:

  • Creating compelling written and visual content that drives engagement and grows our network of followers.
  • Designing and curating social media content for specific ongoing campaigns.
  • Tracking social media metrics and discovering/using emerging trends and insights.

Developing, planning and implementing digital and visual media campaigns that recruit and mobilize volunteers, homebuyers and community members.

Working with our Development, Sponsorships and Volunteer teams to run powerful digital campaigns that grow support through graphic design, rich text email, web pages and social media.

Writing content and ongoing updates for web pages.

Analyzing results and report on successes and challenges.

Serving as a thought partner in creating compelling digital assets.

Identifying new ways in which the organization can communicate its expanded mission and strategic priorities through the latest digital mediums.

Producing the creative design and photography for marketing collateral and communications channels.

Maintaining the organization’s electronic photo archives with support of one communications intern.

Coordinating with photographers (paid/volunteer) to capture the stages of key build events for documentation, marketing and storytelling with assistance from a photography intern/volunteers.

Completing other marketing communications assignments as needed.

Meeting specific yearly marketing and communications goals.

Qualifications

Education and Experience:

Bachelor’s degree required and preferred in advertising, creative design, journalism, marketing, photography, or a related field.

Minimum of three years professional experience in graphic design, marketing, social media management, public relations or related field.

Design experiences with skills in graphic design, animation and video programs.

Professional experience writing using Associated Press style guidelines.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Ability to build a multimedia and digital campaign from scratch.

Adobe InDesign, Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator.

Social media tools (WordPress, Twitter, LinkedIn, Instagram, Facebook and others).

In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Office.

Innovative design and marketing practices.

Excellent written communications skills utilizing AP style.

Excellent verbal communications skills.

Ability to meet deadlines with special attention to details.

Strong organization and time management skills.

Ability to train others in communications/digital online strategies.

Ability to work well with a diverse group of staff members, volunteers and community leaders.

English/ Spanish bilingual preferred but not required.

Compensation & Benefits

Position Information:

This position is full-time and office hours for this position will be Monday through Friday with some evening and weekend work required. A full benefits package is offered including employer subsidized health insurance, paid time off (PTO), employee gym access, and a retirement savings plan with employer matching. This position will require some amount of time traveling locally and candidates must have a reliable vehicle, a valid driver's license and a good driving record.
